Led by Eben Alexander MD and Karen Newell

Book signing to follow the workshop

Join New York Times best-selling author Eben Alexander MD and co-founder of Sacred Acoustics Karen Newell on an exploration of life and consciousness. In 2008, Dr. Alexander spent seven days in a coma due to severe bacterial meningitis. While in coma with his brain shut down, he experienced a spectacular odyssey to realms beyond our known physical universe—an ultra-real journey that ran counter to all conventional neuro-scientific views about brain, mind and consciousness. As detailed in his book, Proof of Heaven, sound provided the crucial engine for traversing spiritual dimensions during his incredible experience.

In this workshop, Dr. Alexander will share in depth about his inner journey then and now and the essential lessons he has learned. He and Karen Newell will describe the tools developed by Sacred Acoustics that each of us can use to explore our own connection to inner knowing and the deeper realities of our existence. Ms. Newell will lead the group in a guided sound meditation to experience for themselves that the answers truly lie within us all. There will be time to process, ask questions and discuss how to integrate the insights from meditation into everyday living.

Eben Alexander MD is an academic neurosurgeon who spent 15 years on faculty at Harvard Medical School. His near-death experience challenged everything he thought he knew about science, consciousness, and the nature of existence. His story and new perspectives are detailed in the #1 New York Times bestseller Proof of Heaven: A Neurosurgeon’s Journey into the Afterlife and in Map of Heaven: How Science, Religion and Ordinary People are Proving the Afterlife.

Karen Newell is co-founder of Sacred Acoustics, creator of brain entrainment audio meditations that combine harmonic digital frequencies, sacred instruments, natural sounds and human vocals to access altered states of awareness. She has explored many forms of acoustic enhancement used for attaining expanded consciousness and teaches others how to do the same.
